CasaLavoro Limited is seeking a competent and results-driven Electrical Engineer to oversee electrical installations, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting across the company's construction and real estate projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical systems are designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with approved specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines.
The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in residential and luxury real estate developments, with the ability to coordinate contractors, supervise site activities, and ensure quality workmanship.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Electrical Installation and Project Supervision
Supervise electrical installations across residential, commercial, and luxury real estate projects.
Review electrical drawings, technical specifications, layouts, and installation plans.
Ensure proper installation of wiring, lighting, distribution boards, transformers, generators, and other electrical infrastructure.
Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, plumbing, and other construction teams.
Monitor project progress to ensure electrical works are completed within approved timelines and budgets.
B. Inspection, Testing and Quality Control
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs and technical standards.
Test electrical installations before commissioning and handover.
Identify defects, faulty installations, and deviations from approved specifications, and ensure prompt rectification.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, commissioning activities, and technical reports.
C. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults affecting buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems.
Supervise repairs and replacement of defective electrical components.
Support the installation, operation, and maintenance of backup power systems, including generators, inverters, and solar installations where applicable.
D. Health, Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, building regulations, and health and safety requirements.
Identify electrical hazards and implement appropriate corrective measures.
Ensure that workers and contractors follow safe electrical work procedures.
Participate in site safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations where required.
E. Cost Control and Documentation
Prepare electrical bills of quantities, material requirements, and cost estimates where required.
Monitor the use of electrical materials to minimize waste and prevent unauthorized use.
Review contractor work, material specifications, and installation costs.
Prepare periodic progress reports and submit them to the Head of Construction.
Maintain updated electrical drawings, maintenance records, and project documentation.
F. Contractor and Stakeholder Management
Coordinate electrical contractors, technicians, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Verify that materials delivered to site meet approved specifications.
Provide technical guidance to site personnel and resolve electrical engineering challenges.
Report project risks, delays, material shortages, and technical issues promptly to management.
3. Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably within construction, real estate development, or building services.
Demonstrable experience supervising electrical installations on building construction projects.
Strong understanding of electrical drawings, load calculations, power distribution, lighting systems, and electrical protection systems.
Experience with generators, transformers, inverters, solar systems, and building power infrastructure is an advantage.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software is an added advantage.
Knowledge of applicable Nigerian electrical installation standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
Professional registration or membership with relevant engineering bodies, such as COREN, NSE, or equivalent, is an advantage, subject to applicable requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively on construction sites and meet project deadlines.
